IMPORTANT NOTES
We recommend applying for a visa online on the Tanzania embassy website. Don’t worry, the process only takes about 20 minutes. APPLY HERE: https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/ Once your visa is approved, typically after 5 to 15 business days, you will receive a visa application notification via email with a link to download a visa grant notice. The grant notice must be presented at the electronic visa window of immigration upon your arrival in Tanzania.
If you are traveling to Tanzania within a month and have not obtained an electronic visa or if you encounter issues with the electronic visa process, you can obtain a visa on arrival. A visa can easily be obtained on arrival at Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, or Dar Es Salaam airports, although the queue may be long. No passport photo is required, and the visa must be paid in US dollars only (if arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport) and by credit card only (Visa or Mastercard) if arriving at Dar Airport.
