About

Our Story

Boho Afrika was born from a deep love for Africa, creative expression, and human connection.

Founded by Lise (Loulou Afrika) — a creative producer with a background in fashion design, dance, and cultural storytelling — Boho Afrika grew from years of travel, collaboration, and lived experience in Tanzania.

What began as a personal journey evolved into a broader vision:
to build bridges between cultures through intentional travel, creativity, and community-led projects.

Boho Afrika is not about doing things for communities.
It’s about building with them.

We lead with empathy,
not judgment

At Boho Afrika, we begin by listening.
We work with humility, curiosity, and respect — taking the time to understand people, context, and culture before acting. Empathy guides how we travel, create, and collaborate.

Our Mission

To foster cultural, educational, and economic exchange between Africa and the world through sustainable, creative, and community-driven initiatives.

Our Vision

A network of human-scale projects and cultural hubs across Africa that support creativity, local livelihoods, and meaningful intercultural dialogue — starting in Tanzania.

Our Core Values

Respect & Reciprocity - Cultural Pride - Sustainability - Creativity & Learning - Community First

From Safari to Community

What began as a single journey slowly became something deeper.
Boho Afrika grew from travel experiences that went beyond landscapes and wildlife — into relationships, shared stories, and a growing awareness of how creativity and community shape meaningful exchange.

This evolution reflects a shift from observing to participating, from visiting to listening, and from short-term experiences to long-term commitment.
