Boho Afrika collaborates slowly and deliberately.
Not because we are exclusive, but because meaningful collaboration — especially across cultures, places, and contexts — requires clarity, trust, and mutual respect.
This page outlines how we approach partnerships and collaborations, so expectations are clear from the start.

Good ideas are easy to find. Alignment is not. Before collaborating, we look for shared values around: – participation rather than hierarchy – respect for local context and knowledge – realistic scope and timelines – clear roles and responsibilities If the way we work together matters less than the outcome, it’s usually not a good fit.
Boho Afrika prioritises small, clearly framed collaborations over open-ended or vague arrangements.
This might look like:
– co-hosting a single workshop
– testing a short-format project
– contributing skills to a specific initiative
– partnering around a defined event or space
Smaller collaborations allow everyone to stay grounded, accountable, and present. They also leave room to reassess before growing anything further.
We are less interested in profiles, reach, personal branding, or popularity, and more interested in:
– follow-through
– communication
– respect for time and boundaries
– willingness to work collaboratively
Visibility does not replace reliability. Consistency matters more than momentum.
All collaborations are based on clear exchange, whether that involves:
– financial compensation
– skill-sharing
– resource exchange
– or another agreed-upon arrangement
What matters is that expectations are named upfront. We do not rely on unspoken assumptions, “exposure,” or goodwill alone.
Boho Afrika does not expect collaborators to represent an entire culture, community, or place. We work with individuals, groups, and organisations as they are — not as symbols or solutions.
Collaboration is a shared practice, not a performance.
Not every conversation leads to collaboration. Timing, capacity, and context matter.
Saying no — or not yet — is part of working sustainably. So is revisiting conversations when conditions change.
Respecting limits protects relationships.
How we choose partners and collaborators is not fixed.
It evolves through experience, reflection, and practice — always with the aim of building collaborations that are respectful, grounded, and workable for everyone involved.
Boho Afrika is a container for shared work.
We choose collaborators with care, so the work can remain meaningful.
Open invitations for workshops, collaborations, and shared projects.
